Earlier this year, three mental health advocates, Lucero Andaluz Llerena, Cofounder and Executive Director of De-Mentes, Muskana Lamba, Co-chair of Child & Youth Working Group of Global Mental Health Action Network, and Matthew Jackman, Founder of The Australian Centre for Lived Experience, discussed the crucial role of a holistic view on mental health.

They emphasised the importance of collaboration, the whole-of-society approach and the value of lived experience in creating and implementing #mentalhealth policies. "

It is important to take a holistic view of mental health, rather than thinking it's only a matter of the health sector," says Lucero Andaluz Llerena. Their message to world leaders ahead of this September's UN High-Level Meeting on NCDs and Mental Health is to ensure that people with lived experience, including youth, are included in co-designing solutions and time to lead is now.
